Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the group access places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This means them few options but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Planners parties.
